Mahesh Kothare

Details: Mahesh Kothare began his acting career as a child artiste through Marathi film ‘Chota Jawan’ in 1963 . Later, he performed as a child artiste in many Hindi films.  He also played the title double role in Hindi film ‘Raja Rur Rank’.  As an actor and director, he entered Marathi films with ‘Dhumdhadaka in 1985. Since then , he has given many box office hits, for almost 30 years now. Mahesh was a popular hero of Marathi films during late 80s and early 90s. 

In the recent past he made the first Marathi film in true 3D, Zapatlela 2, in which he also played the Police Commissioner. In 2012, he also performed in ‘Ideachi Kalpana’ , along with stalwarts like Ashok Saraf and Sachin Pilgaonkar.  In most of his films he played a Police officer.
