Details : As an actor, Swapnil Joshi is equally popular in Hindi besides Marathi stage, television and films. He is the only young actor, who has successfully managed to remain on Marathi and Hindi television simultaneously. Being a very good anchor, he has managed to host many popular TV programmes in Hindi and Marathi, besides playing the Judge of some of the programmes.
Swapnil studied at Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee Charitable Institution, Charni Road and later, completed his graduation in commerce from Sydenham College in Mumbai. Later, he also completed his law degree. His acting career actually began as a child artiste, when he was only 9 year old. Swapnil performed as little Kush, in Ramanand Sagar’s mythological TV serial Uttar Ramayana in 1986, which was a sequel to their mega serial ‘Ramayana’. Later, he appeared in Ramanand Sagar’s next serial ‘Krishna’ in 1993, as a teenager. This role made him more popular.

When Swapnil did a sensible Marathi film ‘Manini’, he started finding roles in Marathi films. But, they were action packed films like ‘Checkmate’ followed by ‘Target’.  Then it was a different film ‘Aamhi Satpute’ in 2008, directed by Sachin, but, it was a multi-starrer film.  However, when ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’ was released in 2010, Swapnil Joshi became a popular actor of Marathi films. His chemistry with Mukta Barve was well received by the audience. No wonder, he did another film ‘Mangalashtaka Once More’ with Mukta Barve in 2013. Though his latest role as TV anchor did not receive much attention, his stage play ‘Get well Soon’ has received overwhelming response.

After his divorce in 2009, in 2011 he married Leena Aradhye who is a dentist.
