Dr. Vilas Ujavane has been in the acting field for the past 14 years. During this period, he has performed in a number of TV serials and films. When we met him recently, he told us that he was performing a different role in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dome’. “A passionate actor is never satisfied by increasing the count of his roles in serials and films. He is satisfied only if he gets a challenging role. Fortunately, I have found one such role in the film ‘Dome’, which will release soon,” he said.
“Dome is the name given to the community which works in a crematorium to help with the cremation of dead bodies. Since I am playing one such lead character, they changed my look completely, to suit the requirement of the character. To prepare for this role, I used to always imagine myself in a crematorium, sitting next to a dead body being cremated. This film is a different film of the past period and is shot in far-off rural areas like Nandani village, Ganeshpuri, Chinchoti. Even the lyrics and music belong to the olden days,” added Dr. Ujavane.
