During our little meeting with him, Nagesh Bhosale shared his thoughts on his film ‘Panhala.’ He starts by saying "During the shooting of ‘Panhala’ at Kolhapur, many people came forward to help when we faced trouble. I was really overwhelmed with their courtesy and I can never forget their love and affection." Here are some of the other questions we asked him during the interview.
'Q: How did you think of making a film on this subject?
A: Whenever I am in Kolhapur, I visit Panhala, which is a famous tourist place. I always see many youngsters there who are curious to know the history of this place. Inspired by this theme, the idea of making the film ‘Panhala’ was born, so as to help connect the present with the past. I am sure the audience will appreciate this film.
Q: How was your experience as a director?
A: ‘Panhala’ is an effort, it is a journey. This film is for those who respect women and their contribution to the society. I felt utmost satisfaction during the making of this film. Now it remains to be seen how the audience will embrace this film when it releases on 24th July 2015. The cinematography of this film is by my son Amarendra Bhosale, who is making his debut with this film. Besides myself, the other important artistes of this film are Sangram Salvi, Sameedha Guru, Amruta Sant and Makarand Deshpande.
Q: Finally, how you will describe ‘Panhala’ in one line?
A: A man fights two different battles at a time in his life. One is with the external world and the other is with himself. This is the main theme of the film.
