We often feel proud, when we find our Marathi artists moving into Hindi films. Now, the same feelings are for Bharat Jadhav. Though Bharat Jadhav had performed in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Hindi film ‘Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye’, he will be seen in a more prominent role in Kundan Shah’s forthcoming film ‘P Se PM Tak’.
In a candid conversation with Bharat, he revealed about his re-entry into Hindi after so many years. Bharat says, “In the past, I did receive offers from Hindi filmmakers, but they were not appealing. I didn’t want to do Hindi films, just for the sake of keeping the count. Vipul Shah had offered me the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s servant in his blockbuster ‘Waqt’, but I refused it as it would have typecast me for the same roles later. Instead, I preferred to wait for better offers from Hindi. Even otherwise, I was always satisfied with offers from Marathi films and was busy enough in Marathi films and theatre.”
When asked, whether he had received a better offer in “P se PM Tak’, he quickly replies, “I am highly impressed by the story and screenplay of this film. Moreover, having seen Kundan Shah’s super hit comedy film ‘Jane Bhi Do Yaro’, I am having full faith in him. The film is a political satire, set on the backdrop of Satara district in Maharashtra, and I am playing a 65 year old flamboyant politician. Along with me, are Meenakshi Dixit and Indrajeet Soni in this film,” he concluded.
