After the release of ‘Happy Journey’ Priya Bapat is reckoned among the top actresses of the Marathi film industry. With the release of ‘Time Pass-2’, it was just another feather in her cap. A former student of Mumbai’s Balmohan Vidyamandir, Priya had even performed cameo in two hit Hindi films ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, thus giving a glimpse of her acting potential. Few years ago, she made her debut in Dr. Jabbar Patel's film ‘Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar’ as young Ramabai. And, thereafter we saw her playing lead role in a sensible Marathi film ‘Anandi Anand’. Priya shot into fame, when she played the lead role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s film ‘Kaksparsh’ and thereafter, there was no stopping for her.
Met Priya recently, during the success party of ‘Time Pass-2’ and she was really overjoyed with the success attained by her film. This was clearly noticed on her glowing face. Priya does not want to classify this film under ‘Comedy’ films category. She calls it an emotion filled love story. “I really liked the content of this second part.”
Speaking about her interaction with her fans about her film ‘Time pass-2’, Priya said that she was shocked to see the overwhelming response on her fan’s page on social networking media. “I had just posted a comment, asking all of them, as to what was their reaction on Dagadu and Prajakta’s first meet during their reunion in this film? Within 18 minutes, I received 500 comments and 1.6 K likes. This is the strength of social networking media today,” she added.
Finally, when we asked her, whether it was a coincidence that after she played a Ghost in ‘Happy Journey’, now her hubby Umesh was also doing a ghost film? “Actually, Umesh’s film ‘Paying Ghost’ is based on V.P.Kale’s story ‘Badli’ and it was already decided by their makers to make a film on this subject. But, Umesh is not playing the Ghost,” she concluded.
