It is never an easy path for an actor in the film industry. But one who knows how to move ahead smartly, it becomes as easy route. Upendra Limaye is one such actor in the Marathi film industry, who has found his way. Upendra came into the limelight after he won the National award for his performance in the film ‘Jogwa’. Thereafter, we saw him in a variety of roles, in films like ‘Pyarwali Love Story’ and ‘Guru Pournima’.
When we met Upendra Limaye recently, he spoke about his journey in this Marathi film industry. “Though there are more and more films being made in Marathi now days, it is not possible to expect the role of your choice, all the time. Sometimes, it so happens that you are impressed with the central idea and story briefing, and you are tempted to accept the role offered to you. Thereafter, begins the work on its screenplay and then the actual shooting begins. You find that there are some changes made in the screenplay, to make some adjustments required by the producer. The actor cannot do anything about it as there are so many things involved in film production. Therefore, there is nothing in the hands of an actor,” he said.
When asked about his upcoming work, Upendra continued, “In ‘Urfi’ I am playing an important role. You will come to know details about this film, only when it is released. Now, I cannot say anything about it. After this film, I will be performing in three more films. But again, let everything take the shape. It is only then, I shall speak about these films,” he concluded in his typical style.
