With successful films like ‘Natarang’, ‘Balgandharv’,'Balak Palak’ and ‘Time Pass’ to his credit, Ravi Jadhav has already established himself as one of the most creative directors in Marathi film industry. Having presented other films like ‘Rege’ and now ‘Coffee Aani Barach Kahi’, his name now features amongst the most successful film makers today.
Ravi Jadhav spoke to ZEE Talkies during music launch of his forthcoming film ‘Time Pass-2’ recently. And, this is what he had to say. “People always think that it is easy to make sequels. But, in my case, making a sequel of ‘Time Pass’ was the most challenging job,” he said.
In the first part, we saw Prajakta (Ketaki Mategaonkar) going to Konkan, leaving behind memories of Dagadu (Prathamesh Parab) in Mumbai. Therefore, their love story was incomplete. Now, through this sequel, the grown up Dagadu (Priyadarshan Jadhav) goes to Sawantwadi, in search of his Praju (Priya Bapat) and their love story takes a new turn.
At the end of the film ‘Time Pass’, director Ravi Jadhav had clearly hinted about the sequel, with the words 'To be continued...’. So, everyone expected a sequel from him. To fulfill his commitment, Ravi Jadhav went through about 600 screenplays and 60 songs. And, that’s how he was inspired by the overwhelming response by the writers, lyricists and composers. “Still, it wasn’t that easy to carry forward the love story further. But, somehow, I managed it. And, now I am very happy and excited about it,” said Ravi.
However, Ravi is more keen to know how the audience would respond to his film ‘Time Pass-2’, when it releases all over Maharashtra on 1st May 2015.
