Marathi films have progressed a lot and there are many movies with bold themes which has invited the attention of universal audience. Just released new Marathi film 'Chitrafeet- 3.0 Megapixel' is all about how the explicit videos of women shot through hidden cameras in India are sold abroad for a big price. Though this low budget film tries to make an attempt to caution the women about such things, but in the process it turns into a film with just a lot of bold and revealing scenes post interval.
Produced by Rahul Borse, Abdul R.C., Somnath Devkar and Jeevan Patil and written, edited & directed by Diwakar Vishwanath Ghodke, the film begins on a good note. Shavla (Seema Azmi) is a young anthropologist who is doing research in the hilly regions of Maharashtra. Shavla seeks help from Sandesh, her friend and a far-off relative on a social networking site. Sandesh (Ashish Pathode), who is also a young fine arts student, knows the hilly regions of the tribal area of Maharashtra very well.
So, Sandesh becomes Shavla’s guide and both of them travel through the jungles, even during night, to reach a well known yet hidden 'Aadivasi' or tribal village in the heart of the mountains. Over here, Shavla studies the conjugal life of these people and explains to Sandeep how it is different from the conjugal bliss enjoyed by city people. Subsequently, they move into a deserted cave at the top of the mountain; the final destination of Shavla. Soon Shavla finds herself in the arms of Sandesh, though she hesitates first. But, on her return, she discovers that her love making video with Sandesh has been uploaded on a social networking site. Obviously, she seeks revenge and informs the police to nab the culprit.
The film does try to warn and caution young women in this 85 minute length film. However, the director does take advantage of cinematic liberties to show hot, bold and lengthy intimate kissing scenes picturised on Ashish Pathode, the hero of this film, and Seema Azmi. In the post interval session, you find many more such hot and bold scenes picturised on Ashish with his new girl friends, who are trapped by him under different pretexts.
Both Ashish (TV actor) and Seema (Hindi Stage and film artiste) are experienced artistes and have played their roles with natural flair during the picturesque trek and in the intimate scenes. However, the other women used for those hot scenes, don’t look natural. Ravi Patwardhan has hardly any role to play. Photography of the film is excellent. Sachin Kabir and Mayur Hardas have to be congratulated for having captured those adventure filled trek scenes very skilfully. Deep Singh and Shankar Singh’s sound design and Rohit Kulkarni’s background music are the plus points of this film. Yug Bhusal scores, by offering apt music for the two songs in this film.
All in all, 'Chitrafeet- 3.0 Megapixel' could have been much better, if the post interval typical ‘hot and bold scenes’ were avoided and instead the revenge story was highlighted in detail.
